Quarantine has challenged us all. Some of us are discovering characteristics in ourselves that have given us pause to stop and review. Time without some kind of order is proving to be my challenge. I've cleared out clutter. I joined the bread making world. I've discovered that when you make bread you have to eat it so my walks are longer each day.
The biggest change I've discovered is personal growth. For those who do not know me personally I purchased my house 5 years ago, two years after the loss of my husband to cancer. I've made this 100 year old house my home. Each room has been a step forward. Some of those steps have been more challenging than others but each one has taught me something about myself.
The first major renovation was the dining room. It was the room that sold me on purchasing this house. I loved all the windows and the hardwood floors and the thought of hosting family and friends for dinners again made me smile.
My choices 5 years ago were classic in style and colour. I love navy and white. I actually consider them one colour :)
What I have discovered while being in quarantine is that I have grown. My choices of colour and style are brighter and happier. Still loving my navy and white but adding a bit of fun to them was all I needed. The realization that I have grown in the past five years is reason to smile and be proud of all the steps I've taken.
Amazing what time alone will do for you. Also amazing is the fact that a can of paint and some fabric can represent a new you!
